If you have adopted one of our titles as a required text and an order has been placed with a bookstore for a minimum of 10 copies, you may request a desk copy of that book. Your request must be submitted in writing on university letterhead.

If you wish to reproduce any of our material, written permission is required. Please submit your requests as early as possible. We ask you to allow 4 - 6 weeks to receive a written response to your request.

MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Publishing involves a matching process between manuscript and publisher. The University of Sankore Press publishes scholarly books and thoughtful books for the academic and general reading audience in African and African American history, sociology, culture, ethics, and philosophy. We welcome the opportunity to review solicited and unsolicited manuscripts in these fields for possible publication.

In order for our editors to determine whether your proposed book is suitable for our publishing program, your proposal must include the following elements:

OVERVIEW

Include a brief description of the book in which you explain the main purpose, thesis, and general plan of the book.

Please specify the details of your finished book, including the expected number of words, the number and type of illustrations and your planned completion date.

Include a sample chapter (preferably an introductory chapter) and/or a representative writing sample.

Contents:
Include a proposed table of contents with a brief paragraph describing each chapter.
